Promoting the honey bee and the craft of beekeeping in Croydon, Surrey and the surrounding areas. We are also members of the UK British Beekeepers Association(BBKA). Would you like to learn about Bees and Beekeeping? Come to the Croydon apiary where you will be warmly welcomed by enthusiastic apiarists and shown the bees, the hives where the honey, honeycomb and beeswax are made. These marvellous social insects will show you both biodiversity and ecology in action. We have regular meeting 2.30pm on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, the first being held April 2012. from April till September at Hartley Down near Reedham Station run by our Apiary Manager. Two points to note - if you would really like to keep bees and do not have the space then simply rent a hive plot on which to place your hive and bees from the association at Hartley Down for a modest annual fee (members only). Also if you would like to come down and see us and the bees you are very welcome, please wear loose fitting trousers and wellington boots and we will supply the veils which will protect you down to your waist.
